Susie’s Famnest Story: Managing Family Life with Confidence

By Ida Stjernström · 21 February 2026

Can you tell us a bit about your family setup? Who is part of your family, and what does your day-to-day life look like?

My family includes my parents, younger brother, my dog and myself. Thirteen years ago my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson’s on top of multiple other diagnosis. Knowing my mom would not be able to take care of him by herself, my brother and I decided to move back in with them. My brother is a system’s admin and I am a nurse. We decided that it would be best for me to quit my day job and stay home with my parents. I usually do the grocery shopping and make the meals the majority of the time. I take them to their doctor’s appointments, and therapy. My brother handles the financials.

What originally led you to try Famnest?

I needed a way to keep everyone organized and make sure appointments didn’t overlap. I did a deep dive into about twenty different family planner apps one weekend. All of them had major flaws and were not helpful. I was beginning to give up when I decided to check out Famnest.

Was there a specific moment when Famnest made a meaningful difference for your family?

I don’t usually leave feedback on apps because most of the time you never get a response or you are given a form letter thanking you for your thoughts. I truly felt Famnest was the right app and had so much potential, so I decided to leave feedback. Ida wrote me back within a few hours and I could tell she had actually read my comments and took them seriously.

How does Famnest fit into your life today?

I use it every day and not just the calendar to keep track of appointments.  I use the health section to keep a list of everyone’s medications and doctor’s notes and the shopping list for groceries. I am one of those people that likes to color code everything and I especially love marking things off my To-Do list.

What advice would you give to a new family just getting started with Famnest?

My advice would be to check out each section. Then once you get an idea of how it works, GO ALL IN! It took me forever to list everyone’s medications but once I did I had a sense of security knowing all of that information is found in one place and only the people who need to see it can. My thinking is the more you put into it, the more you get out of it.

In one sentence, how would you describe Famnest to another parent?

Of all the family planning apps out there, Famnest truly feels like a family and you can tell they don’t just care about their app doing well they care about making life a little easier for families.
